Being a graphic design student means working on a lot of projects at the same time. Besides individual design projects, there may be group projects that you are involved with and a number of other projects and tasks you may be working on. Needless to say, a simple paper planner may not cut it, especially as the need to sync and update contents of it is constant.

With this in mind, it may be time to move to a more digital way of keeping up with your responsibilities. Regardless of how good your writing skills may be, you still need to be fast, efficient and ready to take on any new projects that may come along. Let’s now go and consider how technology can help you overcome time and tech restrictions.

Time is of the essence, as any student around the world will tell you. Schoolwork aside, being able to finish your responsibilities quickly and in as efficient a way as possible will ensure that you also have time for yourself. This time can be spent doing the things you love or working on some other projects ahead of time, relieving you of the stress that comes with fast-approaching deadlines and schedules that tend to fill up the fuller they are.

Google Calendar

Although it may seem like a platform/app too simple for a design student, Google Calendar is an essential tool for anyone who would like to streamline their calendar, ToDo list and be able to do so over multiple spreadsheets and calendars. The calendar syncs on all your devices and has a variety of notification features, email notifications, and push notifications on your smartphone. An added benefit that can save a ton of time includes full integrations with Google Assistant

Google Drive

Google Drive is another excellent solution by Google. It enables you to create a variety of documents and spreadsheets which can streamline your work and make typing of any document a breeze. With proper add-ons, you can also dictate to your Google Docs and save hours on end, freeing up time for more enjoyable activities.

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator, a somewhat simpler solution than Adobe Photoshop, is the perfect solution for those who need to design smaller elements, such as logos, pamphlets, etc. Unlike Photoshop, which focuses on editing photographs, Adobe Illustrator enables you to create pictures from scratch – and do so in a familiar environment.

Freepik

Freepik is a free online solution for all your pic needs. Besides millions of photos and ready-to-download pictures and graphs, Freepik also offers a number of vectors and ready-to-combine elements that are supposed to make your creativity sparkle. A word of warning, good search button skills are needed, as millions of elements can mean hours are spent at a time on trivial tasks, such as browsing.

ProofHub

Once you know what your project is, you can use Proofhub to break it down into more manageable bits and start doing them one by one. This tool is designed for teams, so make sure to check it out. Proofing of your work is a breeze, and anyone can suggest implementing minor changes.

Grammarly

At moments, we all feel overwhelmed with the work there is to be done. As being a graphic designer also means writing and submitting tons of text, Grammarly is your best friend. It can save you a lot of time and work, but make sure to check the suggestions before accepting them, as no machine is perfect.

In addition to this, there are other ways to save time. You can easily delegate some of your school work, free up time and focus on more urgent tasks. Topessaywriting.org can take over a part of your school work by making you study notes and writing your essays. This is a great help, especially early in the semester, since this way, you can get lower prices thanks to longer deadlines for the work these professionals should do.

Nifty

Nifty is another useful tool for design teams. It enables you to easily link the work to whichever online sources you want and enables you to take the matter into your own hands with task breakdown and segmentation. You can include a lot of people on the team, and everybody will be able to track the individual progress of the work they do, including each others’.

Final Considerations

Being a design student is not easy, especially as you may have to constantly care for several projects that you may be working on. In reality, as busy as you may get, being able to delegate or fast-forward some of the tasks is essential in ensuring that you can finish your school year with as little stress as possible. Check out some of our solutions and nail that semester!
